I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and get a great deal of satisfaction assessing people’s real estate needs and then matching them to the appropriate property, wherever it might be in the Portland metro area. I am comfortable with new technology -- I worked for 15 years developing new electronic products and services in the banking industry – but am convinced there is no substitute for old-fashioned hard work when it comes to real estate. I spend my days studying the market and getting inside as many homes as time will allow.

Roughly half my business is as a lister of homes, where I work solely for the home owner as a Seller's Agent (or Listing Agent), responsible for marketing the home to potential buyers and other realtors. The other half of my business is as a Buyer’s Agent, where I work solely for a buyer, searching for homes that meet the buyer’s needs, preparing and presenting offers, and then shepherding the accepted transaction through to closing.

I was raised in Sacramento, California and was recruited to Portland in 1988 by U.S. Bank to run their electronic banking business. Within months, I bought my first home and met my future wife. I know my home buying experience must have been trying for my agent, for I ran her ragged, looking high and low for just the right house. But I did find just the right home, and I was tantalized by the experience and decided a career in real estate might work for me if I ever had the opportunity. Relocating to a new city and buying a home for the first time, now that was a memorable experience! It is something I keep in mind everyday when dealing with clients.

I am committed to delivering a high-level of personalized service and I understand that a successful career in real estate is predicated on happy, satisfied customers. More than half of my business comes from referrals in any given year. In helping customers find their “dream” home, my philosophy is to have them look to the long term, to think past the immediate emotive attraction of a particular house and consider the property also from the perspective of a major investment – one of the biggest they will make in their lifetime. It is a great feeling when you can find a home that is both the one you love and a good, solid financial investment.
